Robinson Crusoe finally found!!
All these things, with some very surprizing Incidents in some new Adventures of my own, for ten Years more, I may perhaps give a farther Account of hereafter.
First published on April 25, 1719. with the full title The Life and strange Surprizing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe of York, Mariner: Who lived Eight and Twenty Years, all alone in an un-inhabited Island on the coast of America, near the Mouth of the Great River of Oroonoque; Having been cast on Shore by Shipwreck, where-in all the Men perished but himself. With An Account how he was at last as strangely deliver’d by Pyrates. Written by Himself archaeologists have discovered the site of the shipwrecked Scotsman said to have influenced Defoe to write Robinson Crusoe… carried in the journal Post-Medieval Archaeology, the story of the archaeological digs on a Pacific island west of Chile, that have found a campsite they believe belonging to Alexander Selkirk, a Scotsman rescued from the island in 1709, have been reported by the BBC.
